This week, the question isn't what's cookin' but what's brewing? Greenbush Brewery in downtown Sawyer , which opened in June, has already changed the face of Sawyer with its delicious craft beer. The brewery has attracted a huge following-- so large that they sometimes run out of beer on a busy weekend. But be patient, they are working as hard as they can to make their great beer, will be bottling soon, and are available at some select bars and restaurants in Chicago. Stop by and taste their selection, buy a Growler... and if they are out, go next door to Fitzgerald's, where their been is on tap.

Many locals, second homeowners and visitors love Luisa's (13698 Red Arrow Highway Harbert 269-469-9037) for breakfast , lunch and delicious Swedish baked goods, not many know that on Fridays -- and Fridays ONLY- Luisa's makes authentic Italian pizzas baked in an outdoor pizza oven brought over from Italy. They are available only from 12-9 and they have a limited menu ( no, no chicken with pineapple) but they are absolutely delicious. Paper thin crust with fresh ingredients popped into a hot, hot oven. Try them for a real treat.
Fitzgerald's in downtown Sawyer opens its outdoor patio just in time for Memorial Day weekend with a new menu. Jo and Jim's hospitality is legendary, so be sure to stop by.269-426-3489. Reservations suggested on weekends.
Soe's on Red Arrow Highway in Sawyer has a new chef and front of the house manager. Fans of the "old" Soe's miss the old format, but go,go,go to sample this new menu which features fresh local produce, lower prices and a menu unlike others out here. They are getting rave reviews from sites such as Daily Candy and others, so I'm not the only one who is a fan. 269-426-4878. Reservations suggested on weekends.
